This was my first experience with health coaching and I was a bit intimidated initially. Esther put me at ease and focused on what I needed to work on. She was very good at helping me identify my goals and then with strategies to meet my goals. She is easy to talk to and the sessions were enjoyable in addition to being helpful. Esther has been working with our 18 year old son for the past 6 months, meeting with him weekly over zoom, to teach him about healthy eating, nutrition, and exercise. The experience has been outstanding and he has learned so much and has even changed his habits and approach. She taught him about nutrition in a way that actually clicked, covering topics like cholesterol, whole grains, balanced meals, and how to make healthier choices in everyday situations. She shaped everything around dorm life (he’s a senior at boarding school), taking into consideration his limitations given that he eats primarily cafeteria food, and has a very busy student schedule. She taught him to track his food and exercise, kept him accountable, and helped him think through challenges. She did this while being supportive but also holding him to his goals. We have seen real changes in his consistency with workouts and in how he puts meals together. He also has a better understanding about his own health, and has taken ownership of the process.
